RECORD BANCO CASINO MASTERS ENDED WITH THE TRIUMPH OF AUSTRIAN PLAYER NIKLAAS FRANEK FOR 24,060€!

Brutal, great, unique, unforgettable - whatever you want to call it, it will definitely describe the historically largest MASTERS. How did the grand finale of the successful event, with a 24,060€ award, turn out?

The outstanding seventeenth edition of the Banco Casino Masters created a magnificent 133,200€ prize pool after an incredible 888 entries, which was redistributed by 103 players. The final day featured the top fifteen most successful poker players, who competed for the title of Masters Champion, which was accompanied by a 24,060€ prize, a ticket to the upcoming Masters and a trophy symbolizing the great triumph.

The first goal in the hunt for the title was to participate in the final table. There were only nine places, so someone had to get off the bike. The first eliminated within final day were Peter Ralbovský (1,183€), Erik Šeffer (1,183€), Juraj Hara (1,183€) and Vlado Valent (1,343€), who did not defend last month's title when he sent K4 out of color as a short stack. His executioner became David Urban with A5. Róbert Baluška was behind him and Andrej Gecler did not make it to the final table as well, finishing tenth with 1,343€.

After almost five hours of play, we met the entire final line-up of nine players who, after a "photoshoot" by Filip Frame, were able to settle for their stacks and continue to drive for victory.

  • Walter Arnold – 2,510,000
  • Michalík Jakub – 4,540,000
  • Dávid Urban – 4,915,000
  • Kráľ Maroš – 3,150,000
  • Teo Popovič – 2,240,000
  • Niklaas Franek – 6,560,000
  • Barnabas Nagy – 3,265,000
  • Bartoš Martin – 2,440,000
  • Komorný Jozef – 5,950,000

The first eliminated from the final table was the player from Košice, Teo Popovič, leaving in ninth place and a reward of 1,696€. After his elimination, Maroš Kráľ was ordered from the tournament with 2,808€, followed by Arnold Walter with a reward of 3,927€ for the seventh place.

The sixth place was taken by the well-known poker player Dávid Urban, when he decided to call all-in, with many cards still playing for him to win. However, the river "brick" did not help him and David had to settle with 5,103€. Jakub Michalík finished in fifth place after a long interlude, followed by Martin Bartoš in fourth place, who credited his account with a prize of  7,625€.

After Martin’s elimination, representatives of Austria Franek and Hungary Nagy remained in the game, while Komorný defended the home scene. The last mentioned went preflop all-in with KQ in color against Franek with eights. The blank board decided that Jozef Komorný would take home 9,873€ from the Masters.

Franek entered the heads-up as a mega favorite with a chip lead seven to one over Nagy. The heads-up didn't last long and we had the opportunity to watch all-in and call. Franek showed KJ and Nagy A6 in the showroom. The board consisting of five 5xKxTxQx5x cards was the last in the tournament. Barnabas Nagy took home 16,139€ for his performance.

The champion of the Banco Casino Masters became the Austrian player Niklaas Franek, who managed to win without a deal and took home a 24,060€ prize. Congratulations!
