SSOP: BIG STACK HAS ITS NEW CHAMPION AND 22 PLAYERS PROCEEDED IN ME WITH 200,000€ GTD

The biggest poker tournament of the Slovak Series Of Poker 2018 has started - the Main Event with a guarantee of 200,000€ has an opening day with 22 advancers and we met another owner of a gold bracelet, Valentín Baženov.

The main event of the SSOP Main Event with a guarantee of 200,000€, started on the opening day 1A, where several well-known names of the Slovak poker industry found their way. 270€ + 25€ admission fee attracted many players, who entered the tournament 99 times together. They all got the same conditions - 40,000 chips and 40 minute blinds. Participants had to play 14 levels, after which they packed their chips with certain progress to Day 2. From the opening day 1A SSOP, 22 players secured their promotion. Emil Nosko became the chip leader, who managed to decouple the starting stack!

In parallel with the Main Event, BIG STACK and its final day also took place. On the final day, 50 advancers presented themselves and another 26 players took advantage of the possibility of late registration. The big stack generated 136 entries, bringing the prize pool up to almost 10,000 Euros. 14 players could get into the ITM, but the last 16 agreed on a double bubble for 100€. Reward of 2.377 Euros and, of course, a gold bracelet worth of 3,000€ was waiting for new champion!

After almost five hours of play, the field was reduced to the remaining 16 and there was not only a re-draw, but also an agreement that the 16th and 15th players will take home 100€ each. Nevertheless, the game remained attractive and gradually Peter Osterreich, Michal Prívara, Michael Lindner, Marek Cachovan, Masih Khan, Tomáš Szabo were eliminated out of the game. Filip Snopek followed eliminated colleagues in a very short time.

Traditionally, the top nine fought their way to the final table, and the well-known faces Jakub Fujerík and Vlado Minarík shared the chip leaders’ position.

Peter Ralbovský, Jakub Fujerík, Monika Paulenová, Vlado Valent gradually left the final table; Jaro Vlk took the fifth place.

In the last four, there has been a discussion about a possible deal, but one of the participants said no. We will not mention that it was Vlado. The last lady in the game, Eva Mandáková, left the game in fourth place and Vlado Minarík left right after her.

Valentín Baženov and Stano Benčat collided in the heads-up, with the first mentioned holding two-thirds of all the chips.

The head-up ended up in the hands of Valentín Baženov, who became the SSOP champion of the Big Stack. Congratulations!
